ah finally, the long awaited post bout the mysterious event called copa iba tt i mentioned in my last post ... hahahah ... this took place on the 14th of july ... bear with my slack in updating ... i'm not even s'posed 2 be blogging rite now ... got paper on fri, argh! ... anyway, let me juz interpret 2 you wat copa iba is all bout ... i'm sure many of you noe tt 'copa = cup' ... well fyi, 'iba = inter-brethren assemblies' ... yes, it's a christian thing ... brethren is 1 of the denominations of christianity ... so it's a day where all brethren churches gather & whack each other out at games ... the 3 games chosen this yr were captainball, futsal & foosball ... now i bet sum of y'all are gonna ask ... wat the hell is captainball ... ??? ... hahahah, it's a pretty simple game ... it's juz like netball except tt each team has a goalkeeper & defender ... the goalkeeper will stand on a chair & the defender fr the opp team will stand infront of the goalkeeper on the ground ... get it? ... other rules include only 3 guys on each team & when gurls score, it's 2 pts ... hahahah ... not bad huh? ... so here are the pics =)
the whole event kicked off with a speaker & rules fr the head referee ... and my church started off with an embarassing start ... i noe, i noe ... twasn't my fault tho i got the brunt off it ... they were calling 4 all the churches 2 line up accordingly ... but my church youth as usual ... nvr listen & kept on making noise at the back of the arena ... so sum of the team captains were getting impatient & caught hold of the 'ones-who-weren't-talking' (aka me) & told us 2 sit down ... infront of us wuz this huge space set aside 4 a church ... so we sat down there lah ... i wuz rite infront sum more ... so most of my church youth started sitting down & i think we were all seated when suddenly ... fr the other end of the arena came a voice over the speaker, 'life chapel players where are you ... u're s'posed 2 line up at line 7' ... oooops, damn embarassing wheyyy ... all of us stood up & had we wanted attention ... we really got it then ... i swear i heard sum ppl laughing ... sigh, alwayz remembered 4 all the wrong reasons ... anyway, we had 2 stand & sing negaraku ... haven't done tt in ages ... and then we were off ...
.: we had 2 gather in church @ 6am ... damn early wheyyy ... and i had gotten so used 2 sleeping in due 2 the holidays ... blargh ... we were going 2 klang in 2 buses ... s'posedly 70 of us, i heard ... 3 captainball teams & 5 futsal teams ... the foosball teams started forming on their own when we arrived, lol ... me & karen on the bus ... bus B, i think ... oso known as the 'captainball bus' ... discrimination btw captain-ballers & futsal-ers' ... sheesh ...

.: our 3 captainball teams have 2 categories ... under23 & under 15 ... we had 2 under 23 teams & 1 under 15 team ... the 1s in the white & blue jerseys are under 23 team B, i think ... can't remember-larrr ... but not my team lah ... they look so pro rite? ... my team look so retarded compared 2 them ...
.: bcos we registered l8 ... the organising committee din have time 2 slot our teams in ... so both teams fr my church, under 23 had 2 play each other ... a shot fr the ridiculous game btw the same church ... my team is wearing the horrid purple thingy ... btw, nick & xiunn dropped by 2 see me & karen 4 awhile ... we made plans 4 l8er ...
.: my team getting ready 2 play against sum other ppl ... everytime we play sure hafta wear those disgusting purple thingys ... so not fair! ... the referee say our shirt colour not obvious enuff, wth ...
.: look who i found there ... actually i quite expected-larrrrr ... cos the last time i went she oso wuz there ... serene, the gurl i took bk with in f4 & f5 ... haven't seen her since then ... we were like so sweaty & tired ... serene is a super terror captain baller ... her church alwaz makes it 2 the finals ... my church on the other hand, sigh ... dun say ade ...
.: these are the players 4 under 15, oso captainball ... the ones wearing yellow ... so small all the junior players, so cute ... wat's there 2 say bout the under 15? ... they alwaz make it 2 the semi finals ... cos in their initial games, they'll whack all the other churches ... this is cos they're taller & bigger ... but then they'll alwaz lose on their 1st game @ semi finals ... in my opinion, no strategy lah they all ... obviously finals will be harder cos the players are better ... no more the cute small ones who can't even hold the ball properly ...
.: the substitutes 4 the 'pro-looking' captainball team under 23 ... hahahah, only look pro ... not more than tt, hahahah ... juz joking! ... they are better than my team ...
.: the supporter, the player & the traitor ... the one on the right in dark red is emali ... she played 4 another church ... so terrible, rite ... turn her back on her own church ... *shakes head* ...
so tt wuz all tt happened in the sports arena ... of course my team din win ... neither did my church win the captainball category ... but out under 15 futsal-ers won 2nd place ... well done 2 them ... so when it wuz almost over, nick came 2 pick me & karen up and we had a glimpse of his church ... nick's church is methodist ... he wuz asking y the methodists dun have games day like us ... well i really dunno, nick ... hahahah ... so me & karen hung out with nich, xiunn & siang ... we only saw cutiechoi 4 awhile cos tt gurl is juz soooooooooo busy ... she definitely needs 48hrs in a day ... so guess where we went 4 dinner?
.: siang took us 4 porridge steamboat in a shop sumwhere in klang ... interesting stuff ...

.: xiunn actually had a farewell 2 attend in tropicana but he made an effort 2 join us 4 awhile ... awwwww, sweetness ... nah, actually he wuz trying 2 prove a point 2 me ... rite xiunn? ... u're still in denial, lol ... anyway, he insisted on making eggs 4 me & karen ... look wat he did, he made a mess of it ... squeezing yolk out & all ... btw, karen ate tt egg ... hahahah ...
yup, so me & karen had fun ... eventho i wuz very tired ... karen din play, ok ... she wuz a supporter ... hahahah ... k, gtg now ... 1 more event 2 blog bout ... i'll save it 4 the weekend ...
